ABOUT TONY

Tony D is a Baltimore native, born and raised in Baltimore City, moving to the Catonsville area at age 9. Tony D is a graduate of Woodlawn Senior High (1973) and the University of Baltimore, where he earned an BS in Accounting in 1977.

Tony D is married to his wife Janet, 40 years, he has 3 children, including a daughter with Down Syndrome who lives with him and his wife, a daughter in Dallas and a son living in Chicago!

HISTORY

Tony D has extensive business, sales and marketing experience. Tony D has over 15 years experience working with Fortune 500 companies. In his early career he was a marketing and financial analyst for Crown Central Petroleum, where he analyzed and oversaw large scale projects. As a district manager for Crown he oversaw the sales team and the operation of 75 branded retail service station outlets.

Tony D is also a former business owner. He has owned and operated 3 different businesses. In each of these businesses he was able to grow the business, increase sales and profits, be consistently recognized for outstanding customer service, but more importantly, he became part of that community! He retired as an Allstate insurance agent in 2021 where he also set records for sales and customer service.

Tony D has over 15 years experience on 3 HOA Boards, 12 as a President, where he was able to resolve outstanding issues, get projects done and improve the financial position of each group. Presently, he is on his Board at The Excalibur, where he has overseen a transformation of the property.

HISTORY

Tony D has extensive experience as a community volunteer, coach and fundraiser.

As Corporate Chairman of the Crown Central United Way campaign in 1985 he set an all time giving record. He once sold 5,000 balloons to purchase playground equipment for the Ruth Eason special school in Anne Arundel County, MD.

 

In the early 2000’s he founded TEAM DeSanctis, a group of family and friends, who walked in the annual ARC of Delaware 5 K run, walk and roll and raised over $80,000 in a 10 year period- funding 6-8 dances per year for 300-400 special needs folks.

 

Tony D is also a volunteer and active member of Beach Heroes, a local group, that meets every Tuesday, and is committed to making OC litter free!
